The performance of both competitors in the year 2012 has been analyzed with the help of the key ratios. Net profit margin is computed as net profit to sales, and sometimes also profit after tax to sales. It is always measured in terms of percentage. This ratio represents the ability of the management to provide the investors with a reasonable return on their investments (Mohapatra). A higher net profit ratio indicates the efficiency of the management to control the cost. When comparing both the companies on the basis of net profit ratio the Coca-Cola Company has generated 2.64% addition net profit than Pepsi which indicate better slightly tight control over costs. Gross profit can be defined as the profit remaining after all the directly related cost of sales or services have been deducted from the revenue. Directly attributable cost include only those cost which are necessary to produce the goods. It is also represented in terms of percentage. The higher the ratio the better is for the company (Gildersleeve). It is an important profitability ratio which indicates the margin between the revenue and the cost of the product. On the basis of gross profit margin Pepsi is much better than Coca-Cola. The GP ratio of Pepsi is 52.49% in comparison to the 44.09% in case of Coca-Cola. The development of Architecture from basic Renaissance form which indicates having the characteristics of dignity and formality shown through symmetry and that to have an available space for rational engagement with the divine which can be asserted that it certainly provides a rational engagement with architecture which is a more effective means to comprehend and understand architectural form than the Baroque form which contrarily presented the beginning of new dynamic, fluid and theatrical approach to architecture that was designed to impact directly upon emotional modes of engagement. The Baroque architecture which was originally linked to the counter reformation which is a movement within the catholic church to rebuild itself to respond to the Protestant c hurch and its embellishments were more reachable to the feelings and power of the Italian church which formed a new style, whereas Renaissance was a mixture of religious and secular force and withdraw the prosperity and strength of the Italian churches. Late Roman buildings, particularly Donato Bramanteââ¬â¢s St. Peters Basilica Tempietto in Rome its design attains a colossal unity that was not known before and hence can be considered as ancestor to baroque architecture. Donato Bramante was an Italian architect, who introduced Renaissance architecture to Milan and the High Renaissance style to Rome, where his plan forSt. Peters Basilica formed the basis of the design executed by Michelangelo. Donato Bramante Tempietto in Rome represent perfectly the Renaissance style of architecture The tempietto identified the start of the Renaissance in Rome in 1502, when a sanctuary to represent where saint peter was killed was requested from Alexander to be built allegedly .Bramante made his building to symbolize the Christian reference for tradition and platonic preference for the early church. The building is surrounded by a one-story Doric colonnade with entablature and balustrade and a 2-story cylinder covered by a hemispherical dome Bramanteââ¬â¢s St.Peter scheme symbolized a building on the buildup of the Baths of Diocletian covered by a dome similar to that of the Pantheon. The major role that Baroque architecture acted upon was the call for an architecture that is both reachable and accessible to feelings and emotions and also a shown statement of wealth and power of church. The facades consisted of many curves, Baroque pediments (which is the triangular area between the end of the roofs and the rooftop) were usually extremely decorated. The tips were sometimes turned into scrolls and gilded. A listed featu res of baroque architecture would include more curves rather than straight lines , decorative columns instead of a supportive one and twisted in shape as well , detailing with a high sense of decoration , applying the appearance of moving and continuous flow as well , along with an abundance of windows , and a lot of paintings blending with the architecture. The church was constructed between the year of 1743 to 1772 along with it unique design in the interior which strongly reflect the baroque architecture. The plan of the church shows the church has layout which is considered to be a complex of highly divided spatial arrangement in a Latin cross form, along with a series of ovals that divides a large series of ovals thatââ¬â¢s perpendicular to it. Moving on to the ceiling, itââ¬â¢s broken up with huge windows that allow the space to be exposed to directional light. Combining all this together which is the amount of light coming from the windows and the flawless stucco work d one by the architects, created an amazing and simple in terms of a transporting interior which has been called Gods Ballroom .As a person approaches the church he or she will witness a wonderful sandstone faà §ade resembling a glorious baroque style along with an appealing and warm hue. In conclusion, Baroque architecture which considered to be related to emotional engagement, this style or architecture concentrate and give more attention to decoration more than support of the structure, curves rather than straight lines, and emphasis on the appearance of movement all along the church. Although baroque has barrows many features from the mannerism and renaissance, but at the same time there is a lot of differences found between these two styles of architecture. In indicating those differences u will conclude that renaissance is more based on realism and being straight, as well as having the characteristics of dignity and formality shown through symmetry and that to have an available space for rational engagement with the divine which can be asserted that it certainly provides a rational engagement with architecture, while the baroque style concentrates more in being complex and in a flow. Giving those factors renaissance architecture can be considered more convincing in terms of architectural aspects due to the high level of stability and proportionality which reflects the concept of power and routine which is needed in places like churches

Teaching The Confessions of St. Augustine ABSTRACT: Augustine's passionate and immensely personal account of his conversion has enthralled readers for centuries. Unfortunately, the passion and personal nature of the writing can stand as a barrier to comprehension, especially when the text is taught at the undergraduate level. Add to this the fact that the work has the character of one long and substained prayer to God, contains many passages that are tediously introspective, and refers to a time and place that are foreign to today's undergraduates, the task of helping students to understand and appreciate the work is daunting, to say the least. Augustine's very passionate and immensely personal account of his conversion has enthralled readers for centuries. Unfortunately, it is also the very passionate and personal nature of the writing that can stand as a barrier to comprehension, especially when the text is taught at the undergraduate level. Add to this the fact that the work has the character of one long, sustained prayer addressed to God, it contains many passages that are tediously introspective, it refers to a time and place that are foreign to today's undergraduates, and the task of helping students to understand and appreciate the work is, to say the least, daunting. But the Confessions, like all great literary masterpieces, is ultimately accessible, although special effort may have to be made to make it so for the student. One method of approaching the text that has been very helpful for my students has been to explore the text in terms of theme and pattern. It is this method about which I will speak in this paper. I shall speak first of theme, and return later to pattern. There is no doubt in Augustine's m... ...on, and the individuals who at every stage helped him to overcome those obstacles. I have further suggested that one theme that comes readily to the fore when the first eight books of the Confessions are analyzed in this way is Augustine's belief that God's work is accomplished in our lives through the agency of others. This approach is used with a primarily undergraduate audience in mind, thus many of Augustine's more subtle psychological and theological teachings from these books are not given emphasis. However, this approach does provide students with a way into the text that is intelligible and manageable. Arm-in-arm infront were Ludendorff, Goring, Hitler, and max von scheubner-Richter the four leaders of the Nazi party. At the odenplatz they found their way barred by a hundredd police armed with bayonets fixed to their rifles. As the two forces were about to come together, a shot rang out no one could tell from which side. In an instant there were volleys of gunfire from both directions. Goring fell, shot in the thigh, scheubner-richter was fatally wounded and, in falling, dragged Hitler to the pavement and separated his shoulder. Nineteen Nazis were killed and dozens were wounded. Only lundendorff continued to march forward and was arrested on the spot. The so- called ââ¬Å"Beer Hall Putschâ⬠had failed. Two days later Hitler was arrested. Goring and Hess fled to Austria. Rohm and the other top Nazis were rounded up and arrested. The party was declared banned by the government.

Dehumanization is the process of making a person less human by taking away the important things in their life and what makes them who they are; not only the material things but their ideas and morals as well. The Naziââ¬â¢s dehumanized millions and millions of Jews during the Holocaust. In Elie Wieselââ¬â¢s recollection of his experience in the Germanââ¬â¢s concentration camps, he explained how brutal the Naziââ¬â¢s could be, how they could take a personââ¬â¢s life away in the matter of seconds, and how they change a personââ¬â¢s outlook on life entirely. The Jews were dehumanized from the very beginning of the Holocaust and only grew to be worse. Dehumanization is the process of making a person less human by taking away the important things in their life and what makes them who they are; not only the material things but their ideas and morals as well. The Naziââ¬â¢s dehumanized millions and millions of Jews during the Holocaust. In Elie Wieselââ¬â¢s recollection of his experience in the Germanââ¬â¢s concentration camps, he explained how brutal the Naziââ¬â¢s could be, how they could take a personââ¬â¢s life away in the matter of seconds, and how they change a personââ¬â¢s outlook on life entirely. The Jews were dehumanized from the very beginning of the Holocaust and only grew to be worse. The Naziââ¬â¢s didnââ¬â¢t make anything easy for them. The Jews endured a continuous struggle that they could do nothing about. In the beginning, it all started with the Germanââ¬â¢s forcing them out of their homes and sending them to the ghettos. The Naziââ¬â¢s stripped them of their rights, took away their belongings, and removed them from their daily lives. This left them with nothing. They left behind their lives. ââ¬Å"To live? I donââ¬â¢t attach any importance to my life any more. Iââ¬â¢m alone,â⬠states an early deportee, Moshe the Beadle. (pg. 5) The Jews were ridded of all sense of security. Once they arrived at the concentration camps, they were struck with another loss of ââ¬Å"themselves. â⬠At the camp, they received tattoos. These tattoos were a series of numbers which represented ââ¬Å"whoâ⬠they were in the concentration camps. They were known as numbers, not people, numbers. A name is sacred. A name is who you are, without it, youââ¬â¢re only a being. They were people with friends and family that knew them by this name, their name. It was just another way to break away the ties of humanity. In the camps, the prisoners were treated like animals. They had to work all day long. They had to eat when they were told to eat. They had do everything they were told. If anyone misbehaved they would be shot down like dogs. Wiesel asks, ââ¬Å"Was there a single place here where you were not in danger of death? â⬠(pg. 37) A human is meant to be free, do as they please, and not live life in fear. The Jews werenââ¬â¢t allowed to have these luxuries anymore. They were worn down to nothing, which is exactly what Hitler was trying to do. Dehumanization was carried on throughout the Holocaust. The Naziââ¬â¢s wanted the Jews gone. They made them flee their homes and their personal lives. They were left with nothing. They were given numbers in replace of their own name, the name that makes them the person they grew up as. They Jewish prisoners were treated like animals. They worked, hardly ate, hardly slept, and worked some more. If someone was to do the slightest thing wrong, they were shot down. The person they used to be is gone. The Jewish werenââ¬â¢t given a chance to fight for their lives. The Naziââ¬â¢s made this impossible. They had to hold onto the little bit of hope left in their wounded hearts.
